C₃H₈O · 0.9% W/V BENZYL ALCOHOL
Bacteriostatic water, done right.
True Water is bacteriostatic water: a sterile water base preserved with 0.9% benzyl alcohol. It's formulated for repeated, sterile access over time, not just a single draw.
Not the same as sterile water.
Bacteriostatic water is sterile water with 0.9% benzyl alcohol added as a preservative. The benzyl alcohol inhibits bacterial growth across repeated access to the same vial. That's why it's used for reconstitution work: dissolving a lyophilized (freeze-dried) compound back into liquid form, in laboratory and clinical compounding settings.
Plain sterile water is built for a single draw. Bacteriostatic water is built to stay sterile through multiple draws across its labeled use period.

How is this different from sterile water?
Sterile water is single-draw. The benzyl alcohol here keeps the vial sterile across repeated access.
Do you provide documentation?
Yes. Batch reports are on the Testing page, or available on request for your specific lot.
